LINCOLN -- Sidney Regional Medical Center CEO Jason Petik was awarded the 2024 American Hospital Association Grassroots Champion Award at the Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) Advocacy Day.

The award was presented Wednesday, March 12, in Lincoln, Ne., at the Lincoln Marriot Cornhusker Hotel. He was recognized for his service and efforts at Sidney Regional Medical Center.

The American Hospital Association (AHA) Grassroots Champion Award was created to recognize hospital leaders who most effectively educate elected officials on both the national and state level on how major issues affect hospital's vital role in the community, who have done an exemplary job in broadening the base of community support for the hospital, and who are tireless advocates for hospitals and their patients.

Annually, one individual from each state is recognized as a “Grassroots Champion” by the AHA in consultation with state hospital associations.

“This award goes to an individual who has a strong track record in grassroots advocacy for their hospital and community. The NHA appreciates Jason’s work and involvement with the provider assessment and EMS guidance in the legislature over the past year,” said David Slattery, NHA Senior Director of State & Rural Advocacy.

SRMC is proud to have a CEO who advocates for our community, provides support for our organization and patients, and who educates officials on the important role SRMC has in Sidney and the surrounding areas. We appreciate all his hard work, dedication, and determination to make Sidney Regional Medical Center one of the best Critical Access Hospital in the Nebraska Panhandle.

His leadership and vision drives our organization to fulfill our mission by providing extraordinary care for every patient, every time.
