COLUMBUS, Neb.) – Jodi Kosiba, RN, BSN, was recently honored with the Service Over Self award at Columbus Community Hospital.
This award was created to recognize CCH staff who volunteer in Columbus and surrounding communities. It celebrates, supports, and encourages volunteer activities while recognizing the positive impact CCH staff have on their communities.
Kosiba was nominated by her co-worker Connie Coan for her generosity in the workplace and volunteer work within the community.
In particular, Coan noted Kosiba’s efforts to care for animals in the community by volunteering with Paws and Claws, giving a home to retired police dogs, and donating dog and cat food for rescue animals. Kosiba is also an active member of Peace Lutheran Church, where she works with the ladies’ group and helps with events and fundraisers.
In her nomination letter, Coan wrote: “Jodi truly embodies our ICARE values of integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence, both at work and in the community. For these reasons, and many more too numerous to mention, I believe Jodi would be a great recipient for the Service over Self Award.”
Kosiba was honored with the Service Over Self award on Wednesday, Oct. 20.
The Service Over Self award is open to all CCH staff. To submit your nomination, send your nominee’s volunteer story to [email protected].
This award is brought to CCH through the Pathway to Excellence® program, which recognizes hospitals that create a positive working environment for nurses.
