Columbus Community Hospital announces new ACU director

COLUMBUS, Neb. -- Lisa Perrin has been named the new director of the acute care and intensive care units at Columbus Community Hospital.

Perrin has worked at CCH since 2002 and took over as director May 9. In her new role, Perrin oversees the 34-bed ICU and ACU. She brings a strong background in critical care to the position. For the past six years, Perrin was manager of the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation department at the hospital. Before that, she was clinical coordinator for the ICU and house supervisor.

"Lisa possesses exceptional leadership and organizational skills that will promote continued growth in our ACU and the care we provide to our community," said Dr. Kurt Kapels, hospitalist and clinical director of Inpatient Physician Associates at CCH. "Her desire for continued excellence in care will benefit our patients and staff alike. We look forward to working alongside Lisa and all our amazing nursing staff here at Columbus Community Hospital."

Perrin earned an associate’s degree from Central Community College-Columbus and a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. She is completing her master's degree in nursing executive leadership from Chamberlain University in Chicago. After starting at CCH as an aide, she began working as a registered nurse in ICU and ACU.

Currently, Perrin serves as president-elect for the Nebraska Cardiopulmonary Network. She also was chairwoman of the 2021 Go Red for Women campaign that raises awareness for cardiovascular disease.

Perrin is a Columbus native. She and her husband, Kevin, have two daughters, Celine and Elyena. She replaces Janet Loseke as the ACU and ICU director, who retired after working at the hospital for 48 years.
