CCH employees get Nebraska Hospital Association scholarships
Employees Sara Becker and Caitlin Matthews recently received scholarships through the NHAREF
News release:
(COLUMBUS, Neb.) – Columbus Community Hospital employees, Sara Becker and Caitlin Matthews, recently received scholarships through the Nebraska Hospital Association Research and Educational Foundation’s Undergraduate Health Care Career Scholarship Program.
The Nebraska Hospital Association Research and Educational Foundation (NHAREF) is offering these scholarships as a way to address the ongoing health care professional shortage. The scholarship programs are also being offered to encourage Nebraskans to remain in the state as they establish their health care careers.
In addition to its usual scholarship offerings, the NHAREF is awarding four additional scholarships this year thanks to a donation to the Health Care Career Scholarship Program from FocusOne Solutions and Aureus Medical Group. FocusOne Solutions is a managed services provider for hospitals and Aureus Medical Group is a Nebraska-based health care staffing company.
“We at Aureus Medical Group and FocusOne Solutions are committed to supporting these incredible students working towards a career focused on the health and well-being of the community,” said Dan Nordstrom, business development executive at FocusOne Solutions. “The pandemic and its effects over the last several months have illustrated how important these skilled and compassionate individuals are in Nebraska and across the country.”
Matthews’ scholarship is one of the scholarships funded by Aureus Medical Group.
“We are proud of Sara and Caitlin for earning these scholarships and we look forward to watching them grow in their health care careers,” said Mike Hansen, CCH president and CEO.
