MEMPHIS, TN. - Ahead of Nebraska's round one matchup with Texas A&M in the NCAA Tournament, Husker fans have brought a sea of red to Memphis.

Christian Ray is a Carrol, IA. native who traveled to Memphis, flying from Omaha to Nashville, then drove from Nashville to Memphis, getting in around 2:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

As a lifelong fan, Ray says it'll be special to witness the teams first ever tournament win.

"It would be incredible," Ray said. "Being from Iowa, I hear it all the time about us being the only team to never win an NCAA Tournament game... I decided to make the trip down, hopefully we can make history, trip would be priceless."

But not only are fans making the way to Memphis, but former players as well. Former Husker basketball stand out Erick Strickland made the trip, and believes the Huskers have a good chance to pick up that first tournament win.

"I think it's the right time," Strickland said. "I think it's the right team, I think it's the right opportunity, I think they've been presented with a nice challenge of growth... They've faced some adversity, learning from that adversity, and putting themselves in a great position landing at third. I think this is a special year and a special team."

Nebraska takes on Texas A&M at 5:50 p.m. CT.
