COLUMBUS, Neb. — A Fullerton woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting in Columbus this week.

Police say 25-year-old Jack Reeg shot 25-year-old Kennedi Demuth in the head in Columbus on Tuesday evening. Authorities say she later died at a Columbus hospital.

Officers arrested Reeg on suspicion of second-degree murder, use of a firearm to commit a felony, and making terroristic threats. Investigators say Reeg admitted to causing the injury.

“This is a tragic incident, and our department is committed to conducting a thorough investigation,” Interim Chief Bret Strecker said.

He has not yet been formally charged in Platte County Court.
