Suspect arrested after vehicle pursuit by Nebraska State Patrol
BEATRICE -- Nebraska State Patrol troopers have arrested a Lincoln man after a multi-county pursuit.
Late Monday evening, a trooper saw a Buick sedan run a red light at the intersection of NW 20th and West O Street in Lincoln. The trooper attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to yield and accelerated westbound on West O Street with a trooper in pursuit.
As the vehicle exited Lincoln onto Highway 6 the driver turned south on SW 98th Street. The NSP AirWing took over the pursuit from the air. Pilots tracked the vehicle as it continued on county roads. After about 20 minutes, a Milford Police officer was able to successfully deploy stop sticks to slow the vehicle.
The driver parked near a residence in Milford and fled on foot into a wooded area. Troopers and officers from Milford Police and the Seward County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area. At around 10:40 p.m., the driver exited the wooded area and was taken into custody without further incident. Troopers located suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
27-year-old Jesse Stinson, of Lincoln was arrested for flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a revoked license, and multiple active warrants. He was being held in the Lancaster County Jail.
