FREMONT, Neb. -- A Fremont animal shelter said they've received a constant increase of stray animals in the past month.

The FurEver Home animal shelter said they've picked up 16 animals in the past week and only four of those have been claimed.

Shelter officials said they're currently at capacity and they're still receiving more animals. It's making it harder to get homes for the cats and dogs that were already in the shelter.

The shelter said they're not sure what's causing the influx in animals.

They're now turning to the community for help by asking people to temporarily foster the stray pets until they can find them homes.
