Behlen operations temporarily halted by fire

A Columbus manufacturing plant is back at it after a fire Monday afternoon.

COLUMBUS - A Columbus manufacturing plant is back at it after a fire Monday afternoon.

The Columbus Fire Department said around 3 p.m., a blaze started inside Behlen Manufacturing, forcing staff to evacuate.

Firefighters said the building's sprinkler system took care of most of the flames and that crews were able to get the fire under control in 15 minutes.

They said there were no injuries and employees were able to go back to work later that afternoon.

There's no damage estimate yet.
