WAYNE - Without their top two rushers and their starting quarterback, tenth-ranked Pierce still showed their dominant side, rolling over Wayne on the road Friday 48-26.

The Blue Devils hung with their rivals for much of the first quarter, answering Pierce's opening score with a kickoff return for a touchdown by senior Jace Jorgensen, and then cashing in a Gavin Lubischer fumble with a Taven Ocampo rushing touchdown to take an early lead.

But the Blue Jays rattled off 41 unanswered points over the remainder of the first half, with the Pierce offensive line dominating the trenches to the tune of 333 yards rushing in the first half alone.

Even short-handed, the Blue Jays still spread the wealth, with their seven rushing touchdowns split between five different players.
