Bridgeport won the team title at Friday’s Gordon-Rushville Girls Wrestling Tournament, edging Chadron in a tight race featuring 12 teams.

In their first game back in nearly two weeks off, the Western Nebraska Community College men’s basketball team competed with No. 2 Snow College. In the end, Snow registered the 127-91 win in the Snow College Holiday Invitational.

The Stanley Cup was in the building in honor of the 1995-96 Colorado Avalanche squad.

The Bravettes kept the Trojans scoreless for an entire half in their 67-6 win.

Scottsbluff wrestling opened the season with a 47-28 dual win over Mitchell.

Black Hills State dominated the first two quarters and went on cruise control the rest of the way, handing Chadron State women's basketball an 83-34 loss in CSC's season-opening RMAC game on Thursday night in Spearfish. 

The Western Nebraska Community College women’s basketball team got 18 points from Veralyn Aviles and the Cougars captured their fourth straight win with a 67-52 win over Dawson Community College Thursday.

The Lady Orange topped the Pioneers 45-35, while the Orangemen rolled to a 71-42 victory. 

Mathew Barzal had a goal and two assists, and the New York Islanders defeated the NHL-leading Colorado Avalanche 6-3.
