PERU, NE - Lourdes Central Catholic turned in an impressive performance from Peru State College's Oak Bowl on Friday, converting takeaways into points in a 58-38 win over Elmwood-Murdock, as heard on B103.

After Elmwood-Murdock took an 8-0 lead on their opening drive, thanks to a 17-yard touchdown pass from Dashiell Coleman to Carson Towle. LCC responded quickly as Alec Schnitzer started his team's scoring with a 37-yard TD run 1:45 later to tie things at eight. Callen Schnitzer ran it in twice after that for a 24-8 lead for Lourdes after the opening frame.

In the second quarter, Alec & Callen Schnitzer each added another scoring run, and LCC led at breaktime, 38-8. Three of those scores followed Elmwood-Murdock turnovers - two lost fumbles from Brody Marsh & an interception thrown by Coleman.

Elmwood-Murdock would never get closer than that final 20-point margin in the second half.

Coleman went 10/23 passing for 167 yards with three TD tosses & two interceptions. Marsh wound up with 18 carries and 79 yards with a TD. Towle had four catches for 60 yards and a TD. Clayton Fletcher finished with three grabs for 56 yards and a score, while also picking off one ball on defense. The down-side for Fletcher was that he fumbled the INT return, and Simon Bruggeman recovered it & ran it 20 yards for an LCC score. Clayton Wagner added a kickoff return for a TD.

For Lourdes, Callen Schnitzer piled up four TD carries & Alec Schnitzer had two. Simon Bruggeman was busy with a fumble return touchdown, a rushing TD, and an interception on defense.

The 2-0 LCC squad will visit Thayer Central on Friday night, while Elmwood-Murdock is 1-1 as they head to Osceola.
