NORFOLK, Neb. — The Nebraska Military Department and the City of Norfolk have announced a new Community Partnership aimed at bolstering emergency response capabilities and providing enhanced support for service members, veterans, and the general public.

The formal agreement was signed by Nebraska Adjutant General Major General Craig Strong and Norfolk Mayor Shane Clausen, who underscored the significance of the partnership for Norfolk residents.

"It’s about reaffirming the partnership we've already had,” Mayor Clausen stated. “This will allow a partnership between our military armed services here in the state of Nebraska and the city of Norfolk. It also reaffirms their commitment to the city on basis of an emergency situation, like flooding or a fire. They'll be here and they'll come and help us any of those needs. So, it's just a great partnership and I look forward to seeing it grow in the future.”

Norfolk becomes the ninth city to participate in the Community Partnership Program, an initiative focused on strengthening local communities through relationship-building, trust, and improved emergency response readiness.
