MITCHELL -- First responders were called to a structure fire in Mitchell Thursday morning.

The fire resulted in a family experiencing loss from the incident. Firefighters are still working on the fire. 

The Firefighter Ministry serving the Mitchell area is assisting the family. They have clothing needs. Tim Grubbs, speaking for the Firefighter Ministry, said the Ministry is asking for the public's help in supporting the family

"The Firefighter Ministry is currently assisting a family from Mitchell, Neb., who suffered a loss due to a house fire this morning. We have them situated in a motel for the present time. But there is a need for clothing," Grubbs said.

The drop off is located at 1321 19th Ave., Mitchell.

The Firefighter Ministry was formed in 2012 and exists to provide help to those who suffer a loss from a fire or natural disaster.
 
The Firefighter Ministry offers lodging, food, clothing and first months rent for those assisted. The Firefighter Ministry is run by volunteers. No one is paid, so all donations go directly to assisting families in need. 
The organization is a 501c3 and all of the board of directors are First Responders.
