Peetz runs past Potter-Dix in football opener, 47-20

POTTER, Neb. - A dominant ground game carried Peetz to a 47-20 win over Potter-Dix in the 2025 season opener Thursday night.
Junior running back Dylan Wagner powered the Bulldogs’ offense, rushing for 160 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries. He also added 22 yards on kick returns and finished with 182 all-purpose yards. Teammate Conner Schumacher contributed 85 rushing yards, a receiving touchdown and two more scores on the ground, giving him 100 total yards.
Peetz finished with 245 rushing yards and 289 yards of total offense. Quarterback Logan Vallier connected on a 15-yard touchdown pass to Schumacher in the win.
The Bulldogs’ defense recored four interceptions, including two by senior Korbin Segelke. Peetz also logged six tackles for loss, a forced fumble, two sacks and a blocked field goal.
Potter-Dix senior Dylan Tabor racked up 178 all-purpose yards with 57 rushing, 66 passing and a 64-yard kick return. Sophomore Domonic Christensen hauled in four catches for 52 yards and added 97 all-purpose yards.
The Coyotes put up 272 total yards, led by the duo of Tabor and sophomore quarterback Callen McConnell, who passed for 91 yards and rushed for 53.
The Bulldogs improve to 1-0, while Potter-Dix falls to 0-1 to start the season. Peetz hosts Caliche on Friday. The Coyotes travel to Sterling, Neb. to play the Jets on Friday.
