Aug. 29, 2025 (Gering, Neb.) — Weather permitting, will begin work on the bridges along Nebraska Highway 71 (N-71) on Sept. 8, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Work will be on northbound and southbound bridges over U.S. Highway 30 (US-30) over the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) and northbound and southbound bridges over Lodgepole Creek. Work will include bridge deck and approach repair, deck surface treatment, and pavement lifting.

All traffic will be controlled by lane closures. Anticipated completion is 25 working days after project start.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
