Dalton Fall Festival set for late September

DALTON, Neb. – The Dalton Fall Festival will return Sept. 27–28 with a full weekend of activities under the theme “Harvest Homecoming.”
"This year is shaping up to be the best one yet," Kayla Wells, one of the organizers of the vent, said in a post on social media. "Take note of a couple of new events that will be sure to WOW the crowd."
The celebration begins Saturday, Sept. 27, with a 5K run and mile walk at 8 a.m., followed by breakfast served by the Dalton Senior Citizens. A parade is scheduled for 10 a.m. along Highway 385 in downtown Dalton, with cash prizes for entries.
Other Saturday highlights include a craft show at Legion Hall, kids’ games and inflatables in Legion Park, a horseshoe tournament, a cornhole tournament, goat roping and a puzzle contest. Food options will be available throughout the day and the Sons of the American Legion will host a beer garden.
The evening will feature a barbecue cookoff at 5:30 p.m. at Legion Park, followed by live music from Kelsey Jo & The Wildcards during a free street dance from 7 to 10 p.m. A community movie and fireworks display begins at 7 p.m. at the practice football field.
Sunday’s schedule includes a community church service at 9:30 a.m. in the high school gym, breakfast hosted by the Gurley Lions Club, and a sloppy joe feed at 5 p.m. at the Dalton Volunteer Fire Hall.
