Multiple ATM machines jackpotted and vandalized in Kearney

KEARNEY, Neb.- A financial criminal is still out there after jackpotting multiple ATM machines, officials say.
The Kearney Police Department says officers responded to a call shortly before 9 a.m. on Monday about vandalized ATM machines at Trius Federal Credit Union.
A news release says the thieves took money from the machines over the weekend.
Jackpotting an ATM involves the suspect using a form of malware or hardware to compromise the security systems, allowing money to be dispensed.
The amount of cash stolen has not been disclosed and investigators are still working on the case.
