'Guns' defeat 'Hoses' in annual charity softball game
Proceeds support Night of Hope

SIDNEY -- The "Guns" added another notch to their belt, defeating the "Hoses" in the annual softball competition.
"Guns," the law enforcement team, extended their winning streak to five over the "Hoses," firefighters two-game win record.
Proceeds from the event supports Night of Hope. The Guns vs. Hoses game included sale of Night of Hope t-shirts, raffle for prizes and concessions.
The game is not just a competition of physical prowess. It is about having fun, a little poking fun at the respective disciplines and showing support for Night of Hope. The annual Night of Hope Walk for Cancer was held August 8 at Legion Park.
Some of the antics include law enforcement had to eat a doughnut while in play. Firefighters, on the other hand, were doused with a buck of water as they took the field.
To complicate the game a little more, the umpire changed directions of play at one inning. The batter had to run to third base, then second, first and home plate. Batters had one chance to make a hit.
