KEARNEY, Neb. - Authorities are investigating what caused a car to catch fire in a Kearney driveway Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. near X Avenue and 36th Street, where a white car was actively on fire in a residential driveway.

The vehicle was fully engulfed when fire crews arrived, but the flames were quickly brought under control. No injuries were reported.

The owner of the vehicle was not home at the time and was notified by nearby relatives and neighbors.

The fire was contained to the single vehicle and no nearby structures were damaged.

The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
