NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A man who authorities say absconded from parole was arrested in North Platte Wednesday.

According to the Nebraska Department of Corrections, Jerry Kindle, 35, of North Platte, was previously serving a sentence of 13 to 21 years at Community Corrections in Lincoln for shooting someone in April 2015.

He was out on parole when the Nebraska State Patrol was alerted he was at a home on East 8th Street.

According to NSP Lieutenant Kyle Diefenbaugh, the situation led to a brief foot pursuit. Troopers, with help from the North Platte Police Department, secured a perimeter before Kindle was caught shortly after 4 p.m.

He was lodged in the Lincoln County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond at 10 percent.
