GERING, Neb. – The Nebraska Department of Transportation announced bridge repair work will begin Monday, August 11, on a stretch of Interstate 80 in Deuel County, weather permitting.

The project will cover I-80 from mile marker 95 to mile marker 97, with work focused on a bridge over County Road 189. The repair is necessary due to damage from a recent accident, according to NDOT officials.

Traffic in the area will be maintained but limited to lane restrictions throughout the project’s duration. The anticipated completion date is August 29, 2025.

Drivers are urged to use caution in the area and follow all posted signs and safety protocols. NDOT reminds motorists to stay alert in and near work zones, wear seat belts and avoid using mobile devices while driving.
