Omaha, Neb - A wanted fugitive in the state of Nebraska is in custody after police used a K-9 unit to make the arrest at a car wash in Douglas County.

The Douglas County sheriff's office says they arrested 27-year-old Richard Ryan, who had a felony warrant for absconding from his parole on a robbery charge.

The Douglas County Special Operations Group (SOG), along with the Omaha Police, says they coordinated surveillance on Ryan, where multiple stolen vehicles were entered and exited. Ryan was observed taking a stolen vehicle into a car wash, where authorities, in an attempt to safely apprehend him in a manner that minimized risk to the public and law enforcement, blocked Ryan’s vehicle into the car wash stall.

Officers say Ryan, in an attempt to flee, rammed his car into a deputy's vehicle. Continuing to refuse orders from Law enforcement to surrender, deputies fired two rounds of less-lethal munitions and released a K-9 to bring him into custody. Ryan’s Wife, 26-year-old Anika Ryan, was with him at the time and booked into Douglas

A search of the vehicle found distribution amounts of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and burglar’s tools. Three stolen vehicles were seized. Four SOG Deputies were injured in the incident and later medically cleared

Ryan was booked into Douglas County Corrections and charged with:
