Natural gas prices are on the rise in Nebraska.
The Nebraska Public Service Commission are reminding consumers that beginning Friday, Black Hills Energy will be charging higher rates for natural gas.
The nearly 35 million dollar proposal would increase Black Hills’ fixed customer charges and distribution charges. While waiting on the approval of the commission, the company can charge higher interim rates.
The Commission will hold a hearing on Black Hills’ proposal in October to gather evidence from the company and the other parties.
If the Commission approves a final rate that is lower than the interim rate, the utility must refund the difference.
