KEARNEY, Neb.-- A fair for all: the Buffalo County Fair is embracing uniquely-abled guests.

Special Needs Day at the Buffalo County Fair is an event for kids and adults with special needs.

It's a different kind of fair experience-one created for those who may not be able to join in the usual rides and games, but still want to be part of the fun.

With a multitude of events like face painting, selfie museums and sensory activities indoors, as well as the carnival and games outdoors, there's plenty to try.

Fairground Marketing and Sponsorship Director Hope Wise wants all involved to get the most out of the unique opportunities.

“It’s a good time for all of them to come together, hang out and participate in activities they might not do everyday,” said Wise. “It’s just a good time for them.”

The event ran all the way through Thursday afternoon with buddies for those with special needs.

Volunteers, like the Fairgrounds office workers, hope to give children or adults who would otherwise not be able to attend the fair because of overstimulation or stress, a chance to have their own experience.

“My favorite part is seeing all the people that I know get to come and enjoy,” said Katie. “They get some free stuff and get to do some coloring.”

At the Buffalo County Fair, every smile and shared moment proves that fun truly has no limits."
