KEARNEY, Neb.— A popular Kearney pool is out of commission until next week.

The Centennial Pool’s recirculation pump broke on July 18, during one of the few heat advisories the Kearney area has seen all summer.

The pump was at Centennial for 23 years before breaking.

Kearney Parks and Recreation staff has ordered a new pump that they believe will be in early next week.

However, getting chemicals adjusted and regulating the pool back to normal may take a few more days.

KPR says that they have planned for Harmon Pool to be able to handle the capacity of patrons that would normally be at Centennial. Harmon Pool’s hours are Monday through Friday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
