GERING --  Eastbound Interstate 80 (I-80) will be closed 8 a.m. July 21 for 12 hours, from Interchange 59 to Interchange 69.

Traffic will be detoured to US Highway 30 (US-30) to allow for the removal and installation of a new bridge girder over I-80 at County Road 125.

 The designated detour route is the off ramp at Interchange 59 then North on L-17J (Upland Parkway) to US-30 and east to N-27 (Exit 95). Motorists are encouraged to use the eastbound off ramps at Interchange 55 and 59 to US-30 to help relieve congestion at the Interchange 59 off ramp. Please follow the signed detour for eastbound traffic. A detour map is attached.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
