Jobless Eaton employees offered aid in finding work

KEARNEY, Neb.-- The jobless Eaton employees will have the chance to find new opportunities after communication with multiple Kearney agencies.
Following the recent announcement from Eaton regarding the layoff of over 200 employees, the Kearney Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Nebraska Department of Labor, the City of Kearney, the Development Council and other local partners, have been in active communication to coordinate a community response.
The Chamber has come forward with the idea of a job fair in August, specifically aimed at connecting affected Eaton employees with new opportunities.
While the initial focus will be on manufacturing businesses, open participation to all interested businesses and organizations will be allowed.
The event will be free of charge and date, time and location are undetermined at this time.
The Chamber encourages all interested businesses to reach out and reminds community business owners to post job openings on their website.
