Norfolk, Neb —Danielle Meyers-Noel has stepped down from her role as Norfolk's city attorney after seven years, citing a need to focus on personal matters.

"I love my job. You know, I have loved working with all of you, with all my colleagues," Meyers-Noel stated to the city council. "But ultimately, this is a decision to step down for my three kiddos that I have at home and hopefully support somebody else in this role."

Meyers-Noel will continue to provide legal counsel to Norfolk in a part-time capacity. She will also train Mellissa Figueroa, the city’s business recourse specialist, who is set to take over as the interim city attorney starting August first.
