Eastbound I-80 to close near Sidney for bridge repair July 14

SIDNEY, Neb. — The Nebraska Department of Transportation announced a planned closure of eastbound Interstate 80 near Sidney for bridge work on Monday, July 14.
Beginning at 7 a.m., eastbound I-80 will be closed for 12 hours between Interchange 59 and Interchange 69 to allow crews to remove and install a new bridge girder over the interstate at County Road 125.
Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. Highway 30 via Upland Parkway (L-17J) and directed east to Nebraska Highway 27 (Exit 95).
To reduce congestion, the NDOT encourages motorists to begin exiting I-80 earlier at Interchanges 55 or 59. Drivers are asked to follow posted detour signs and allow extra travel time.
Motorists are urged to use caution in and around work zones, wear seat belts and avoid distractions behind the wheel.
