CHEYENNE COUNTY -- Sunday's storm resulted in damaged roads and high water in north Cheyenne County.
Highway Superintendent Skyler Saucedo said in the Cheyenne County Commissioners meeting Cheyenne County Road 44 was closed between U.S. Highway 385 and County Road 111, just south of Gurley.
He said he received reports of about 3 inches of rain falling in the Gurley area.
A lightning strike resulted in a small grass fire on U.S. 385/17J Link Sunday evening. Wheat Belt Public Power District reported losing three sub transmission poles east of Gurley as well as a few distribution poles in the Gurley to Bridgeport area. Kelli Chaon, Wheat Belt Customer Engagement Manager, said a few CT Loops burned up, likely from lightning strikes.
She said all in all, Wheat Belt didn't sustain much damage.
Tornados, strong winds and hail were also reported in the Panhandle.
