OGALLALA, Neb. — Interstate 80 near Ogallala was closed in both directions for nearly two hours Friday afternoon due to a crash, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

The closure affected traffic between Exit 126 (US 26/NE 61) and mile marker 135, just east of Ogallala, at the height of Fourth of July travel.

The Nebraska State Patrol reported no injuries as a result of the two-vehicle accident.

NDOT reported the incident at 12:38 p.m., with the roadway reopening by 2:26 p.m. Motorists experienced significant delays as holiday travel traffic was rerouted.

Authorities have not released further details about the cause of the crash.
