BRIDGEPORT -- The Camp Clark Rodeo completed its 100th event Saturday.

It is a history that started with a family wanting to preserve the farm lifestyle. Morrill County Farm Ranch Association President Del Ray Kraupie said the rodeo is an event that started with a Morrill County family.

"Basically, its tradition. This rodeo started in 1925 when the Lindberg family donated the ground," he said.

The rodeo has changed over time. According to Kraupie, the schedule and changed and the popularity has increased.

"We used to put on two rodeos a year; one 4th of July and one Labor Day rodeo. We got it down to just one rodeo a year, but basically its always around the 4th of July; sometimes the 3rd, 4th, sometimes the 4th, 5th," Kraupie said.

He said they have been doing two performances and two slacks every year.

Kraupie said the Lindberg family wanted to see the fair and rodeo tradition continue.

"They were a very successful family here in Morrill County, and they wanted to see the fair and rodeo and just the kind of agricultural western tradition survive," he said.

The family's investment became a community landmark now in its 100th year.

"Here we are, that was 1925. We're in 2025 so 100 years have gone by since that happened. We've been putting on this rodeo, there's been several generations of families from around here that have helped put on this rodeo for Camp Clark Stampede Rodeo," Kraupie said.
