POTTER, Neb. – A motorcyclist was seriously injured Saturday afternoon in a crash east of Potter along U.S. Highway 30, according to the Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Adam Frerichs said two motorcycles were traveling eastbound on Highway 30 when one of the riders failed to navigate a curve near the Point of Rocks area at mile marker 43. The motorcycle left the roadway, flipped multiple times and went through a barbed wire fence before coming to rest.

The crash was reported at 3:46 p.m. The rider was rushed to Sidney Regional Medical Center by ambulance and was later scheduled to be transferred to another medical facility due to the severity of their injuries.

Frerichs said the investigation is ongoing, and the rider’s name has not yet been released.

The Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office, Potter Volunteer Fire & Rescue and Sidney Regional Medical Center EMTs all responded to the scene.
