Fireworks use in Sidney permitted June 25 through July 4

SIDNEY — The City of Sidney is reminding residents of the official dates and times fireworks can be legally discharged within city limits ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.
According to city ordinance, the use of permissible fireworks is allowed beginning at 8 a.m. on June 25 and ending at 1 a.m. on July 5. From June 25 through July 3, fireworks may be discharged between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. On July 4, fireworks may be used from 8 a.m. until 1 a.m. the following morning.
The ordinance also allows fireworks to be discharged between 5 p.m. on December 31 and 1 a.m. on January 1. Fireworks used outside these designated times require a special permit approved by the city manager.
City officials encourage residents to celebrate safely and be respectful of neighbors and pets during permitted hours.
