SIDNEY -- Downtown Sidney was hot with back-to-back entertainment Friday night as The Big Boy opened the summer concert series Downtown Sounds.

The near carnival-like atmosphere had numerous food vendors, student organizations and just a time to enjoy the summer night with friends.

The free concert series opened with Caleb Kenner, Dylan Bloom and Casey Muessigmann.

Kenner grew up in Hebron, Neb. In high school, Caleb's passion for music unfolded as he participated in band and vocal groups. After graduating, high school, he attended college where he met his future wife, Abby. In 2021, Abby gifted Caleb a guitar for Christmas, sparking a new chapter in his life. As he delved into playing and songwriting, Caleb discovered a profound connection to music.

Dylan Bloom, also from Nebraska, is a rising country music artist known for his authentic storytelling and soulful blend of country, folk, and Americana music styles. Casey Muessigman finished the night on stage, singing his heart-felt, starting with the Jelly Roll song "Need a Favor."  He appeared on “The Voice” Season 3 as a member of Blake Shelton’s team. Muessigmann's newest album is entitled “Between the Rows.”

The next Downtown Sounds show is Friday, July 18 when national runner-up on The Voice this spring, Jaelen Johnston is joined by Savanna Chestnut and Tanner Sovereign on the Hickory Street Square stage. Hockett, Jaden Schumacher and Tim Zach finish the summer on Aug. 15.
