SPRINGFIELD, Neb.--  The Springfield Platteview Education Foundation is proud to announce a $150,000 gift from Horizon Bank to support the installation of a state-of-the-art 17'9" x 32' video board at Salberg Stadium, home of Platteview High School.

“We are thrilled to partner with our local school district,” said Scott Bartels, Senior Vice President of Horizon Bank. “Investing in our community’s future and shaping tomorrow’s leaders is a privilege.”

The project will be fully funded through private donations. Horizon Bank’s gift, combined with contributions from the Education Foundation and future sponsorships, ensures the project will move forward, with installation targeted for Spring 2026.

“Horizon Bank’s support is the catalyst for this effort, paving the way for additional community sponsorships,” said Jodi Kohl, Executive Director of the Springfield Platteview Education Foundation. Additional sponsorship opportunities offering prime video board visibility will be announced soon.

The video board will also benefit Platteview’s media production students, extending hands-on learning opportunities year-round beyond the gymnasium. “Our donation aims to elevate both the athletic experience and student education,” said Bartels.

“The new board will enhance game-day experiences and provide real-world learning in media and communications,” said Dr. Ryan Saunders, Superintendent. “We’re grateful for Horizon Bank’s generosity and the Foundation’s leadership in making this vision a reality.”
