Charges filed in 2019 Garden County sexual assault case following confession

OSHKOSH, Neb. — A Garden County man has been charged in connection with a 2019 sexual assault case following a recent confession, the Garden County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Ryan W. Dailey, 25, of Oshkosh, is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in January 2019. At the time of the incident, Dailey was between 19 and 20 years old. His confession came during a video-recorded interview with Sgt. David LaDuke of the Alliance Police Department on May 23, 2025. In the interview, Dailey reportedly described in detail his sexual contact with the victim.
The confession corroborated an earlier report filed in July 2019, which had been investigated by the Garden County Sheriff’s Office. That initial case included a forensic interview at the Capstone Child Advocacy Center in Sidney and a case report compiled by investigators. Authorities said the victim met Dailey via social media, and two incidents of sexual activity occurred at Dailey’s mother’s home in Oshkosh.
A second interview with Dailey at the Box Butte County Jail further confirmed details of the assault, including the exchange of explicit images and Dailey’s acknowledgment that he knew the victim’s age.
Dailey is charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault, one count of third-degree sexual assault of a child and two counts of debauching a minor. He is being held in the Garden County Jail on $250,000 bond, with the right to post 10 percent.
