OMAHA - The Kearney Bearcats are Class A boys state track and field champions thanks in part to gold medals in the sprints from Zaire Lagrone-Miller.

The senior posted a time of 10.51 to win the 100M dash. He finished the 200 with a time of 21.5 to take that race. He also ran the final leg of the 4x100M relay to move Kearney's group from fifth to a second place finish. His anchor leg of the 4x400M relay helped finish off the team title for the Bearcats.

"My start in the 100, my finish in the 100 and my finish in the 200," Lagrone-Miller said. "That was key."

Lagrone-Miller will run track and play football at UNK.
