Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Scotts Bluff, Banner, and Goshen counties

SCOTTSBLUFF - The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southwestern Scotts Bluff County and northwestern Banner County in Nebraska, and southeastern Goshen County in Wyoming.
The warning is in effect until 4:30 p.m. MDT Friday.
At 3:43 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles east of La Grange, or 21 miles southwest of Scottsbluff, moving northeast at 30 mph.
The storm is capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter-size hail. Radar indicated the threat.
Damage to vehicles from hail and wind damage to roofs, siding and trees is possible.
Communities in the path of the storm include Scottsbluff, Gering, Terrytown, Melbeta, Hubbard Hill, Scotts Bluff National Monument and Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area.
Residents in the affected areas are urged to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.
