Norfolk man under the influence causes fiery crash

NORFOLK, Neb. — Two people are being treated for injuries following a fiery crash involving a drunk driver.
It happened at 6:20 Tuesday night at the intersection of Highway 35 and Benjamin Ave. in Norfolk. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office says 25-year-old Cutter Anderson of Norfolk was driving north on the highway at about 60 miles per hour. Investigators believe he didn’t brake when approaching the intersection and collided with an SUV. The impact then sent the SUV into a third car.
Anderson’s SUV caught fire and required two state troopers put it out.
Emergency personnel transported Anderson and the driver of the SUV to a local hospital. Both SUV’s were totaled and the third car suffered minor damage.
The Sheriff’s Office cited Anderson with driving under the influence - second offense and possession of marijuana.
