OGALLALA — Ogallala Public Schools named Joe Dinan as the new head football coach and strength and conditioning teacher at Ogallala High School.

Dinan brings a strong background in athletics and education to the position. He earned his bachelor’s degree in K–12 Physical Education and Health from Nebraska Wesleyan University, where he also played football from 2013 to 2016. He later completed his master’s degree in Educational Administration from Dakota Wesleyan University.

Following his collegiate playing career, Dinan transitioned into coaching, serving as the defensive backs coach at Nebraska Wesleyan from 2017 to 2020. He held the same position at Dakota Wesleyan during the 2021 season. Most recently, from 2022 to 2024, Dinan was an assistant football coach and head wrestling coach at Hastings St. Cecilia High School.

Ogallala Public Schools welcomed Dinan in a statement shared on social media Tuesday, expressing excitement about his addition to the district's coaching and teaching staff.
