School board recognizes April students of the month

SIDNEY -- The Sidney School District Board of Education recognized the April students of the month at the May 12 board meeting.
7th grade -- Caden Cox: Caden Cox has a strong desire to accomplish the goals he sets for himself. He works well individually and understands the value of teamwork. Caden has a quiet strength that inspires others to believe in themselves. His level of self-responsibility is very high for a middle school student, as he maintains straight A's in the classroom. Caden is the son of Jari Beecham and Josh Cox.
8th grade -- Channing Hobson: Channing Hobson consistently proves to the entire Middle School that she has the qualities to be the best person she can be. Channing is always positive towards everything she attempts and accomplishes. She is in school every day, putting her best foot forward, knowing she will succeed in everything she does. Her can-do attitude spreads to the people who surround her, which makes them better also. Her kindness and desire to assist people make her an outstanding classmate and student. The Middle School staff agrees that Channing is respectful to teachers as well as her peers. Her positive attitude, excellent work ethic, kindness and patience with others make her an excellent choice for Student of the Month. Channing is the daughter of Tiffany and Dane Hobson.
9th grade -- Raphael Rivera: Raphael has grown a lot in his academics throughout the year. He has shown a great deal of perseverance and his not afraid to ask for help or be honest when he makes a mistake. His extracurricular activities include being a passionate member of the football and track teams, and a manager for the basketball team. Raphael is the son of Haley Dietrich.
10th grade -- Jordynn Schnell: Jordynn is a kind and hardworking student. She continually strives to improve, while offering help to others who may be struggling. She is very involved outside of the classroom in FFA, volleyball, basketball and track. Jordynn is the daughter of Jarrod and Tara Schnell.
11th grade -- Raven Dinorog: Raven is a model student. He comes to class well-prepared and joyful. Raven is competent, disciplined and passionate about excelling. He has a great attitude in class and does a nice job getting his work done in a timely manner. He also has a great sense of humor. Raven is the son of Lora Dinorog.
12th grade -- Deanna Horst: Deanna Horst is a dedicated student. She is involved in many extracurricular activities -- volleyball, speech, NHS and choir. Not only does Deanna excel academically, she is a kind and caring member of the senior class. She is a model student as well as a highly competent student. She is well-organized, disciplined, and passionate about excelling. She comes to class with a joyful spirit and genuinely enjoys learning and working with her classmates. On May 10, she graduated as Valedictorian of the Class of 2025. Deanna is the daughter of Maury and Diane Horst.
