KEARNEY, Neb. - Two former UNK college athletes have teamed up to open a first of its kind facility in Central Nebraska.

Triumph Sports and Performance in Kearney is a sports performance center which has recently opened its doors, and brings both professional and science-backed training to athletes of all levels.

The new business is founded by former professional football player Corey Hoelck, and former baseball player Shane Stock, both of whom played at UNK.

Hoelck says what sets Triumph apart is the combination of professional playing experience and Stock's background with strength and conditioning methods that include scientific, research-backed training.

"With my background of playing, Shane's background of coaching at the college level, you know it's not just personal training. It's learning things at the highest level and then bringing that to athletes," said Hoelck.

The facility is the result of nearly two years of planning, collaboration, and development.

Its small group model fosters a competitive, supportive environment while still allowing for individualized focus.

Hoelck and his team hope Triumph will not only improve performance but also help prevent injuries, ensuring athletes make the most of their playing years.

"For years to come, I think we're gonna really benefit Kearney and we just can't wait to keep pouring into Central Nebraska and all the surrounding athletes," he said.
