Kearney Public Schools is searching for a new head softball coach following a recent departure.

KHS announced Friday that head softball coach Steve Stutzman has announced his resignation after two years of leading the Bearcat softball program.

Stutzman is stepping down to accept a professional promotion as a National Sales Trainer for Abvie Pharmaceuticals..

“These past two years have been an incredibly rewarding experience,” said Stutzman. “I am truly thankful for the opportunity to be part of the Kearney High Softball Program, where we not only represented athletic excellence but also character, teamwork, and dedication.”

Athletic Director Ryan Hogue praised Stutzman’s impact and leadership: “This is a tremendous opportunity for Coach Stutzman, and there’s no way he can pass it up—for himself, but more importantly, for his entire family. We are incredibly grateful for the work he’s done with our softball program and wish him continued success in this next chapter.”
