GERING — Wheatland’s Tate Nichols and Brecken Sandlian both fired 71s to claim individual title honors at the Gering Boys Invite on Wednesday at Monument Shadows Golf Course.

Sidney placed seventh in the 10-team varsity field with a team total of 342, led by senior Cole Raffelson, who shot a 76 to tie for sixth overall. Teammate Coen Rosenbaum carded an 86, followed by Liam Dornbier (88), Andy Smelley (92) and Campbell Shoemaker (95).

Kimball finished ninth as a team with a total score of 394. The Longhorns were led by Kyler Lusche, who posted an 82 to finish in 19th place. Teammates Kayman Lusche and Ryker Behrend each shot 104, while Danny Cajero added another 104 and Parker Deboodt rounded out the team with a 107.

Cheyenne Central and Scottsbluff tied for second with 311, four strokes behind team champion Wheatland at 307.
