Two truck drivers killed in head-on crash on I-80 near Brule
BRULE, Neb. — Two semi-truck drivers were killed Saturday night in a head-on collision on Interstate 80 in western Nebraska, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.
The crash occurred around 11:45 p.m. near Brule in Keith County. Investigators said a westbound semi-truck crossed the median and collided with an eastbound semi-truck.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
A female passenger riding in the eastbound semi was transported to Ogallala Community Hospital and later flown to the University of Colorado Medical Center in Denver. Authorities said her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The Nebraska State Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
