Scottsbluff teen arrested accused of pointing CO2 handgun at multiple people
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. — An 18-year-old Scottsbluff man was arrested Saturday evening accused of pointing what appeared to be a handgun at several individuals during a disturbance in the 600 block of East 11th Street, according to the Scottsbluff Police Department.
Officers responded to the report of a firearm-related disturbance at 8:36 p.m. on May 3. Upon investigation, police arrested the teen on suspicion of making terrorist threats and being a minor in possession of alcohol.
Witnesses told officers that the suspect pulled what looked like a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at multiple people while making threats to shoot. A physical altercation followed, during which the weapon was taken from the teen. Authorities later identified the weapon as a CO2 handgun.
Both the suspect and one of the victims sustained minor injuries, including scrapes and scratches during the altercation.
The Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office, Scottsbluff Fire Department and Regional West Ambulance assisted at the scene.
