KIMBALL -- Eight students on the High School Track team competed at Best of the West Tuesday, with one earning first place in two events.

Derek Russell set a personal record while earning first place in shot put with a throw of 50’10.5’’. He also took home first place in discus with a throw of 155’0’’. 

JaLeigh Bohac earned third place in discus with a throw of 109’2’’. Addy Olson earned fifth place in high jump going 5’0’’. Rachel Berger placed sixth in pole vaulting going 8’6’’. 

Braxton Miller earned fourth place in the triple jump going 40’3.25’’. He also set a personal record of 4:58.90 in the 1600-meter relay. 

Conrad Kaminski set two personal records of 4:52.94 in the 1600-meter relay and 10:54.22 in the 3200-meter relay. 

Brayden Fuss placed fourth in pole vaulting going 11’6’’, and Trey Cook placed sixth going 11’0’’. 

High School Track Head Coach Tiffany Johnson says it was a great day, and everyone competed well. 

“It was awesome seeing Conrad and Braxton run under 5 minutes in the 1600 and Conrad to run under 11 minutes in the 3200,” she said. “Derek winning both the shot put and the discus was a huge high light, and JaLeigh did great in the discus placing third.”
