KIMBALL -- Six students on the Jr. High Track team competed at Best of the West Tuesday afternoon, with one student placing second in her event. 

Jaylah Graves received a medal for placing second in discus with a throw of 81’4’’ and seventh in shot put with a throw of 26’9’’. 

“We are really proud of how much Jaylah has progressed throughout the year,” says Junior High Boys Track Coach Jacob Hoffman. “She was out at the beginning of the year with an injury and has really come along as the year has gone on. We are excited to see how she competes as she goes into high school.” 

Britton Culek set a new personal record going 8’6’’ and placing sixth in pole vaulting. Megan Fuss also set a personal record going 7’ and placing sixth in pole vaulting. 

Culek said, “Today was a great experience, and it was fun to see how many people were here competing.” 

Mason Brown jumped 34’9.25’’, setting a personal record and placing sixth in the triple jump. Naylix Tabor jumped 32’11’’ in the triple jump, earning 13th place. 

Trajan Johnson placed eighth in the 1600-meter relay, setting a personal record of 5:41. 

“The kids who qualified competed and represented our school very well today,” said Junior High Track Coach Jaclyn Burks. “We are very proud of their efforts.”
